▂▃▅▇█▓▒░۩۞۩ Description of this Artwork  ۩۞۩░▒▓█▇▅▃▂

:iconukulelemoon::iconsaysplz: For all of you that have ever given me a Llama or ever will! This is my new 'Thank you for the Llama' image. I noticed a lot of people use plz accounts or tiny icons. I wanted to make a larger image to distribute in thumbnail format that was as bright and vibrant as my appreciation for all of the encouragement I have received from fellow Deviants. I am really please with how this turned out. My favorite part is the red back ground and the smile that the Llama has on his face. I should name him. Any suggestions?

I am on a mission to the Golden Llama. Often you can find me trolling :icongiveallamagetallama: I am also on a mission to give out as many Llamas as humanly possible. Often I am tripping the DA 'spam filter' with how many Llamas I give in an hour or so.

I am kind of sad there is no Rainbow Llama any more. :( Llama Evolution by mohammadamiri

As a whole, I like this painting very much. The colors pop, the lighting is acute and accurate for the piece's intent of being enthusiastic and thankful, and the llama-let's face it-is just incredibly cute.

That being said, I do have some points to discuss in the details that can draw the eye away from the overall majesty of the painting.

1: the snout seems to be pulled, unnaturally, too far forward and to the llama's right (viewer's left) and gives the impression that it was tacked on as an afterthought. There are two reasons, that I can see, for this, and they are as follows:

a. The dark patch on the snout lines up perfectly with the dark right ear, effectively cutting it off from the parietal bone of the face, and giving it a wobbly feel, as though viewed in a fun house mirror.

b. The left nostril of the nose dips down too far to the left (viewer's right), further aggravating the effect of the dark line caused by the patch and ear by pushing the top part of the line down and exaggerating the wobbly mirror effect.

I cannot see anything else that detracts from the painting, as any other criticisms, in my opinion, would just be nitpicking a very well crafted piece.

The painting style is both soft and powerful, the llama's eye is bright AND full of life, the expression on the llama's face is dignified but not pretentious, and I get a feeling of hope from it. I am very much reminded of the old wartime paintings showing patriotic men and women gazing into the future with pride, dignity and hope; and, interestingly enough, Star Trek. (I could wax philosophical on that, but a critique is not the place for it. Lol.)

Thank you very much for sharing your piece, it has been an honor to view and critique it.
