  I had a really neat idea one night while I was up with the worst heartburn of my life. Instead of drawing a bunch of random things... why not come up with a collection of things, say about 5 of them, and link them together with some common theme? I looked through my existing gallery and realized I don't draw enough food. Food is beautiful and it is something that we all share a fondness and a necessity for existence. Peppers gave me heartburn that night and they are some of my favorite foods so I picked peppers as the first subject of the digital collection.

I got to thinking that it would also be pretty cool to use these collections to showcase some artists who are under-appreciated in the artistic community. I've made it my goal and mission to recognize these souls and give them an encouraging pat  on the back. So here are 5 peppers and five people that make DeviantArt a very special community.

It's no secret. I love color. I love her reckless use of color. It makes for a visual that leaves you breathless.

Artist Feature: The Banquet of DeviantArtSo I drew five of the most boring pictures of peppers one could imagine. It was an artistic study of still life food and I don't regret doing it. I stared at them. Yes, they resemble peppers. Yes, they are probably 'ok' as far as quality, but they were empty and lifeless. You can't taste their robust flavors or savor their essence in the way that you could if they were real. They're just boring old peppers. Nobody wants to look at that... and it got my mind thinking...
Maybe all of my submissions are the same way. Lifeless. I'm not fishing for compliments but a lot of times I have to go through this thought process to make sense of things around me. I say or write those provoking thoughts out loud so I can come up with solutions to issues I have. It occured to me!
Call it my Sicilian sense of morals. Sicilians love our food. We share it with those we love. We add spice and come up with unique combinations and flavors to enhance our dishes and then we share it with our entire village. T
